What exactly is Zentangle Inspired Art, or ZIA?
Simply put, it’s practicing Zentangle on a format beyond the 3.5″ x 3.5″ square paper tiles, or with anything beyond black ink and pencil for shading. Use of Erasers or color moves you into the ZIA area. Zendalas, black tiles, renaissance tiles, 3Z tiles … all of these are Zentangle Inspired Art.
And yet to me, the term “ZIA” usually refers to Zentangle art that is larger.
In the “Zentangle Inspired Art – Valentines” class, we will work on a 10.5″ x 10.5″ Opus tile, using an eraser and adding color. The finished piece will be suitable for framing if you like.
I will teach the tangles for the ZIA, and you are free to add any of your favorites to your piece. I will teach you a couple shading techniques, too.
The course fee is $45 and includes the tiles you will need in class.
Please remember to bring your pens, pencil & tortillion from your Basics class! If you forget or new new ones, I will have them available for sale.
