OK -this is a technique I’ve been wanting to try. It’s a good one to use on a tile that has a large smudge or mark on it. On this tile, I deliberately used a paper towel to put a big splotch of coffee. It was challenging to let the splotch be what it was instead of trying to control the splotch! The marking left by the coffee stain then became the string for this tile.

I even forgot to sign it before I took the picture!

The one thing I’d say is that my micron pens did not like going over the coffee stain. They got clogged up, similar to when I use them over Prismacolor. Still, the challenge was fun and different. What do you think?

  1. I think it’s beautiful! I love the tangles you chose, the colours and composition! 🙂

  2. Wonderful done – I love the Tipple within Cubine and Dragonfly 🙂

  3. I do like this tile!

  4. Hi Debbie! I love your beautiful tile. The tangles are great. And I see you also used the black and brown microns, which seems perfect for this challenge. I found that the microns were a bit scratchier on the stain, but for me they just picked up some of what I’d just laid down which was easy enough to fix. But the pens didn’t seem to get clogged up (whew!). So good to see your take on this Diva Challenge. Have a great sunny week. 😀 The sun is streaming in my window as I type this. Yay!

  5. I like the contrast between the browns and black. Nice tangle choices!

  6. Great tile! I love the contrast and the black edge. It’s very dramatic;-)

  7. You’ve done a lovely job – I especially love the softness of tipple and Dragonair beside Cubine.

  8. Wonderful tile with a great contrast!
